Consiglio, come ho già fatto altrove, di dare una possibilità a questa meravigliosa artista.
Ha partecipato al tributo di Prince ai Bet.
Ha talento da vendere.
Musicalmente curiosa ed eclettica è capace anche di mantenere l'attenzione alta durante i live, grazie ad una grande presenza scenica.
Balla, si muove, utilizza coreografie.
Insomma, a me ricorda un mix tra Prince, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder.

On EbonyJet.com's Facebook page, most people who saw Janelle Monae were not impressed. I think Prince knew that would be the case. It was an apt reminder that uniqueness, artistry and a dedication to breaking the rules is still something out of the ordinary in today's Black music. But it was a brilliant performance, and inits quirkiness and strangeness and power, by definition more of tribute to Prince than any other performance. The same goes for Esperanza Spalding, who did what Prince respects most. She did not parrot a Prince song note for note, but relied on her considerable talents as one of jazz's leading new lights to flip "If I Was Your Girlfriend" on its head, making it another song entirely. That's how you honor Prince, by showing, as Prince said later in his acknowledgment, that "the future is in good hands."
Bravissima nella sua performance al Bet, Prince faticava a star seduto dal piacere d'ascoltarla.
Mmmh, l'ha fatto pure Con Alicia Keys (così... così... la sua performance, molto scenica, ma poca voce) e Patty LaBele (grandissima), ma Monáe per età e performance è una promessa del futuro.
Janelle Monàe ha vinto il centric award (qualcuno sa che premio sia? )
al Soul Train Music Awards cioè la premiazione annuale della musica soul ed R&B.

Una cosa certa del mio futuro è che andrò (una manina sui cosidetti la sto mettendo..) andrò al concerti di Janelle prima o poi.
Adoro il suo disco e ogni tanto devo riascoltarlo.
Soprattutto però adoro lei, che artista magnifica, stupenda, magnifica,mhh, stupenda.. magnifica dai.

Avrei osato di più, nel senso che secondo me merita molto di più questa ragazza.
Cacchio quanto adoro il suo muovo di muoversi e di cantare.
Era da tempo che non mi innamoravo in maniera così profonda di un'artista.

Molto ma molto di più merita...
proprio ieri era il suo compleanno auguri anche se in ritardo.
Apprezzo molto anche il fatto che per il suo lavoro
abbia tratto ispirazione dal padre della fantascienza Frizt Lang.

Ha ricevuto una nomination per Best Urban / Alternative Performance per "Tightrope" con Big Boy più una nomination per la categoria Best Contemporary R&B Album per l'album The ArchAndroid.
Si è aggiudicata tre nomination ai Grammy da quando ha iniziato la sua carriera. Il suo primo Grammy per la canzone "Many Moons" nella categoria Best Urban / Alternative Performance.
Avevo sentito voci ,però non so realmente confermate, secondo le quali Janelle chiederebbe
denaro ai concerti per avere un suo autografo o semplicemente parlarle.....
Ma io mi chiedo... anche se fosse?Io non pagherei....(per Prince Sì e non mi vergogno a dirlo)
ma se qualcuno è disposto a pagare per fare conversazione o avere un suo autografo perchè no?
Troppo cinica?
